For nearly 50 years Elfin Sports Car Company has produced some of the most highly competitive sports and open-wheeler racing cars of their day, ranging from the 1959 Streamliner, to Formula Vees through to 'big banger' sports cars and the MR9 Formula 5000 of the 1980's.

Elfin has won no less than 29 championships and major titles including two Australian Driver's Championships, five Australian Sports Car Championships, four Australian Tourist Trophies and three Formula Ford titles. World Formula One Champion James Hunt raced an Elfin, as did the brilliant French Formula One driver, Didier Pironi.

Elfin also took out the Singapore Grand Prix, twice won the Malaysian Grand Prix and also won the Australian Formula Two Championship in 1972 with Larry Perkins in an Elfin 600B. The original Elfin Clubman was designed in 1961 and 14 vehicles were manufactured. For the new Millennium, enter the "New Generation" Elfin Clubman Type 3 and MS8 Clubman and Streamliner models.

Launched at the 2004 Melbourne International Motor Show, the Elfin MS8 Streamliner drew much media attention. With a unique combination of Elfin racing heritage and a flowing body conceived by former Holden design director Mike Simcoe, the provocative Streamliner saw a significant change in style with a leap forward in technology. The use of the General Motors 5.7 litre V8 gave this commanding cruiser both the power and design to compete on the world stage.

Soon to follow was the MS8 Clubman offering the same GM power-plant but with a contemporary take on traditional Clubman styling. After receiving ADR approval in 2006 production of the MS8’s began under ownership by the newly formed Walkinshaw Performance.

Flash forward to 2010 and the latest phase in Elfins modern era is the T5 Clubman, a return to its traditional roots with a direct market competitor to such marques as Caterham, Lotus, PRB & Westfield. This all new turbo-charged Clubman is built on a lightweight multi tubular space frame and sources its drive train form the American Pontiac Solstice, it has the performance and handling to match the worlds super-cars at a fraction of the cost.
